FAQ
What are your pieces made of?
316L stainless steel — the surgical and marine grade. It does not corrode, does not stain skin, and does not care about sweat, chlorine or salt water. Gold finishes are PVD: the colour is fused in a vacuum chamber rather than dipped in a plating bath, which is why it holds up far better than standard plating.
Will it turn my skin green?
No. That happens with copper and brass alloys and with cheap plating. 316L steel does not react with skin. If you have a diagnosed metal allergy, the full specification is on every product page.
Will the gold wear off?
PVD is a hard coating rather than a plating bath, and it is far more durable. It is not indestructible — no coating is — but if it fades or discolours within 12 months of normal wear, the Valor Promise covers it.
How do I find the right size?
Every product page lists real measurements, because the most common reason jewellery gets returned is that it arrived smaller than the photo suggested. For chains, most men wear 55cm. There is a full Size Guide with how to measure a piece he already owns. Buying for someone whose neck you cannot measure? Order your best guess — if it is wrong we will swap it, unworn, within 14 days.
Which pieces can be engraved?
Any piece showing the engraving box on its product page. Engraving is free and always will be — it is not an upsell.
How many characters can I engrave?
It depends on the piece, and the field on each product page stops at that piece's limit. On smaller surfaces that is enough for initials or a date rather than a full name.
What is your returns window?
14 days from delivery, for unworn pieces in their original packaging, with return postage at your cost. Three things are excluded from change-of-mind returns: engraved pieces, earrings, and anything bought on sale or clearance.
That is change of mind only. If any piece is faulty, those exclusions do not apply and your rights under the Australian Consumer Law are unaffected — tell us and we will sort it out.
Can I return an engraved piece?
Not for change of mind — it is made to your text and cannot be resold, and we say so on the product page rather than in the small print. If the engraving does not match what you ordered, or the piece is faulty, that is on us and we will replace it.
Why can't I return earrings?
Hygiene. It is standard across the industry and it is the one exclusion nobody argues with once it is explained. Faulty earrings are still covered.
What does it come in?
The Valor Tin: pressed steel, matte black, with the monogram struck into the lid. Inside, a cotton card printed with your message, a polishing cloth and a warranty card. In every order, at no extra charge.
We chose a tin because wrapping goes in the bin and boxes get flattened. Tins get kept.
Will he see the price?
Not if you are sending it to him. Gift orders go out with no invoice, no price and no packing slip showing what you paid.
How long will delivery take?
Every product page shows an estimated delivery window before you pay. It varies by piece — see Postage & Delivery for the groups and their timeframes.
Do you ship outside Australia?
Australia and New Zealand.
What is covered by the warranty?
The Valor Promise runs for 12 months from delivery and covers tarnishing, fading, discolouration and clasp failure in normal wear. Not covered: ordinary marking, impact damage, perfume, chlorine, salt water, cleaning chemicals, loss, or work done by someone else. Full terms on The Valor Promise.
How should I look after it?
Take it off before swimming, the gym and the shower. Wipe it with the cloth in the tin. Do not put it in an ultrasonic cleaner and do not spray perfume onto it. That is the whole routine.
Can I change or cancel my order?
Email us as fast as you can with your order number. If it has not been dispatched — or, for an engraved piece, if the engraving has not been cut — we will change it. After that we cannot.
Where are your pieces made?
Designed in Australia and produced by our manufacturing partners. Every piece is inspected against the Valor Promise, and hand-packed, before it ships.
Who do I talk to if something is wrong?
carollok3025@gmail.com. We are small, so you get a person rather than a ticket number. Tell us what happened and we will fix it.
