Chain length
The same chain, four lengths, on the same chest.
55cm is the length most men wear.
| Length | Inches | Where it rests |
|---|---|---|
| 45cm | 18" | Base of the throat. Sits under a collar, out of sight. |
| 50cm | 20" | Just below the collarbone. Peeks above a t-shirt. |
| 55cm | 22" | Mid-chest. What most men wear, and what a pendant is drawn for. |
| 60cm | 24" | Lower chest. Over a t-shirt, or under an open shirt. |
Guessing? Slim build 50cm · average 55cm · broad shoulders or over 190cm 60cm. A heavier chain hangs deeper than a fine one, so round up. Better still: lay flat a chain he already owns, clasp included, and measure end to end - that beats every rule of thumb here.
Bracelet
| Wrist | Order |
|---|---|
| 15 - 16cm | 18cm |
| 16 - 17cm | 19cm |
| 17 - 19cm | 21cm |
| 19 - 21cm | 23cm |
Every bracelet ships with a 5cm extender, so there is room either way.
Ring size
A tape measure, or a strip of paper and a ruler. Both take a minute.
Wrap at the base of the finger, where the ring will sit.
| Around (mm) | Across (mm) | Size |
|---|---|---|
| 54.4 | 17.3 | US 7 |
| 55.7 | 17.7 | 7½ |
| 57.0 | 18.1 | 8 |
| 58.3 | 18.5 | 8½ |
| 59.5 | 18.9 | 9 |
| 60.8 | 19.4 | 9½ |
| 62.1 | 19.8 | 10 |
| 64.6 | 20.6 | 11 |
| 67.2 | 21.4 | 12 |
Around is the tape measurement. Across is the inside width of a ring he already owns - use that column instead if you are buying a surprise.
Measure at the end of the day, when fingers are at their largest, and never when hands are cold. Between two sizes? Go up - a ring that will not pass the knuckle is no use, a slightly loose one still wears.
